How The 2023 Rains Have Clearly Messed Up Mumbai, Thane And The Neighbouring Areas

North India isn’t the only part of the country that isn’t having a fun time these monsoons. Though, not as severe, Mumbai and Thane (part of Maharashtra) are not having the best of rains too. People generally associate the rainy season, with romance, good food and a pleasant time. Not any more!! Everyone’s favourite time of the year, has turned to terror and destruction this time. No holding back!!

And this has already spoilt a lot of the crop harvest. And now it is disrupting day-to-day life. Things are not looking good. When you mess with nature, it tends to hit back in some form or the other. And that seems to be the case this time.

The Horrible Situation Of Thane, Ghodbunder Road And Virar!!

Things are not looking good for Thane City and it’s neighbouring areas. There is a lot of water-logging due to the constant rains that have been going on. And this isn’t the best time for it to be pouring so heavy.

Already, the country has been dealing with a crisis of sorts. To add to that, this will even further make things worse, with the road connecting into the national highway. And the condition of their surrounding and nearby areas is even worse.

Below is a recent video that went viral on Twitter!!

And in response to this, a user posted the situation in Virar, with a short complaint attached in the caption!!

Well, things can only get better from here. That is, as the rains start to slow down a bit and the sun comes out. However, that could surely take a while. So, let’s wait and watch how things develop now.

Can The Government Do A Better Job!?

Well, thought it is impossible to forecast how much rain will be falling in a particular monsoon, the governments can surely take better measures. The drainage systems and facilities can be surely better. And if not that, prompt action must be taken when the rainfall is so high.

However, one must also remember few things. Major highways and roads like the Ghodbunder Road are not easy to drain out. The problem is that, very limited resources can reach these places. This is due to the heavy volume of usage and traffic on it, at all times of the day. So, addressing these problems can surely be a challenge.

However, a place like Vasai and Virar surely needs to have better measures. Past experiences are something that can teach new tricks to every experienced leader. And that is what should be implemented. Not just by government offices. But by societies’ committees and other governing bodies too.

At the end of it all, there is no point in blaming one over the other. We are all in this together. And the need is for solutions. Not proving anyone “wrong” or “right”!! Be safe!!
